GATLINBURG — For a moment Friday night, it looked like Gatlinburg-Pittman might finally hit a speed bump.
Rival Pigeon Forge had trimmed a two-score lead to six late in the third quarter, its sideline buzzing after its quarterback danced through the Highlanders’ defense for his second touchdown. The rival Tigers were inching closer, threatening to spoil the hosts’ 4-0 start and No. 2 ranking in the TSWA Class 3A state poll.
Then Gatlinburg-Pittman found another gear.
