Kevin Lane had his mind made up.
An hour long lightning delay, a six-plus minute Clinton drive and a penalty weren’t going to change it.
Lane’s Central Bobcats team finally had the ball at their own 11-yard line. A delay-of-game penalty moved them back to the 6.
Then Kaden Long hit Javaston Badgett in stride down the Central sideline, and their long-awaited start had taken just six seconds.
The 94-yard touchdown link up between Long and Badgett was the early indicator of the kind of night it was going to be for the lethal Bobcats duo, and it paved the way for a convincing 51-21, Region 2-5A win over Clinton at Dan Y. Boring Stadium late Friday.
