When Alcoa and Anderson County played a Region 2-4A championship game in Week 11 that came down to the final second, the matchup left onlookers clamoring for a possible postseason rematch.
A few weeks later, Greeneville denied them that.
The Greene Devils ousted Anderson County, 28-21, on Friday in the Class 4A state quarterfinals to set up an even bigger marquee matchup with 23-time state champion Alcoa in this week’s semifinals.
