The similarities will be striking when Halls (8-4) and Sevier County (12-1) tee it up Friday night at 7 in Sevierville in the Class 5A state semifinals.
- · There are top-tier quarterbacks on each side.
- · Both teams feature multiple playmakers. You can’t just hone in on one or two players on either team.
- · And most important of all, the Red Devils and Smoky Bears have both found a way to survive and advance.
“These are two schools with lots of similarities,” said Sevier County coach Todd Loveday, whose Smoky Bears are looking to repeat as state champs.
“They’ve both got great community support and they both have blue-collar, hard-nosed kids mixed with some really good athletes.”
