Rivalries kept on brewing Tuesday night in the elimination semifinals of the Region 2-4A boys’ basketball tournament at Bearden.
Farragut earned its first berth in the region championship and state sectional round since 2022 with a 72-59 victory over Hardin Valley Academy in Tuesday’s opener.
In the second game, Bearden avenged last year’s region semifinal loss to Oak Ridge by beating the Wildcats 58-49.
Bearden will play host to Farragut on Thursday night at 7 for the region championship and home-court advantage in Monday’s sectionals, where a victory earns a trip to the state tournament.
“It’ll be a tough game, a hard game, a rivalry game,” Bearden coach Jeremy Parrott said of the region final. “It’ll take our best to get (Farragut).”
