OAK RIDGE — To knock off an opponent that was not only undefeated but also mowing through its competition to start the boys soccer season, Oak Ridge knew it would take something out of the ordinary.
Does scoring two goals within the first six minutes of the game against a Halls team that had only given up two goals for an entire game once this season qualify as out of the ordinary?
You bet.
Propelled by that fast start, the Wildcats upset the Red Devils 3-2 at home on Thursday night.
Halls, refusing to taste defeat for the first time this season without a fight, scored a pair of second-half goals to tie the game, but the game-winner belonged to Oak Ridge (4-6, 2-0 District 3-AAA).
