Seymour got what every high school baseball team wants this time of year: proof that the climb has been worth it, and breathing room to prepare for what comes next.
With Tuesday’s 12-2, five-inning win against host Fulton, the Eagles did more than add another mark to the win column. They clinched the District 3-3A championship outright, extended their winning streak to six games and secured the right to host the district tournament at the end of the regular season.
In the standings, it is a title. In the dugout, it looks more like opportunity.
