FARRAGUT — Winning a District 4-4A Baseball Tournament rarely is an easy feat. Even four-time defending state champion Farragut couldn’t do it in 2023 and 2025 en route to state titles.
And when Oak Ridge entered the league this school year, the task of winning a title got doubly difficult.
Farragut entered play Tuesday knowing it would have to twice topple an Oak Ridge team that it had already lost to twice this season just to get the winner’s trophy.
The Admirals met the challenge, though, winning 8-4 and then 10-0 to capture tournament gold. Farragut is now 3-2 against Oak Ridge this season. But don’t be surprised if the two state powers rematch soon in the region tournament rounds.
Region 2-4A Tournament play begins Friday, as District 3-4A champion Central will face Oak Ridge while Farragut will take on 3-4A runner-up Halls.
But first, here is how Farragut got the sweep of Oak Ridge on Tuesday night.
