When Webb School of Knoxville hired George Quarles back in early December of 2025, the splash hire sent significant ripples throughout East Tennessee — if not the entire state.
Quarles won more than 93 percent of his games and logged 11 state championships in an 18-year coaching career stop at Maryville High School from 1999-2016 but was returning to the high school coaching landscape after nine seasons of coaching in college.
Many in the area wanted to know: who would serve on his staff at Webb to help rebuild the Spartans back into state prominence?
Quarles provided answers at the 2026 Knoxville Football Officials Association’s High School Football Media Day on Friday.
