Knoxville Central’s volleyball players know they’ve played nine matches and haven’t even lost a set.
But as coach Susan Davidson sees it, the Lady Bobcats are at their best when the scoreboard isn’t a factor.
“When we get ahead, one of our goals is we are trying to remain focused and play each point at a time,” Davidson said after her team’s Thursday night sweep of visiting Oak Ridge. “Don’t look at the scoreboard. Play each point, and let’s continue to run.”
For a few minutes, Oak Ridge made that philosophy matter.
