Elizabethton Cyclones hold off upset-minded Northview Academy in Week 6

KODAK — A young Northview Academy had a lot of the ingredients to pull off a Region 1-4A upset Friday night. The Cougars ran for 276 yards, had a pair of long second-half touchdown drives and twice pulled within four points.

But every time the Cougars threatened to change the game, Elizabethton responded.

The Cyclones capitalized on two first-half turnovers, got a momentum-flipping kickoff return from C.J. Mathes and answered both of Northview’s second-half touchdowns on the way to a 31-20 road victory.
