Carter quarterback Brody Sparks had a breakout sophomore season in 2024, throwing for 2,362 yards and 22 touchdowns.
One problem: Carter didn’t capitalize on the breakout season by Sparks, going 4-6 in the regular season and finishing fourth in Region 2-4A with a 2-3 record.
The Hornets, who lost to Greeneville in the first round of the state playoffs, plan for better results in 2025 — and much of it centers around Sparks being the returning QB.
“It’s great,” Sparks said during Tuesday’s 7-on-7 passing scrimmages at Karns. “It’s just last year didn’t go as planned, so this year we’re coming back with a better mentality and hopefully do a lot better than last year.”
