MARYVILLE – They weren’t keeping score, and they weren’t keeping track of touchdowns.
But that doesn’t mean Greeneville and Maryville’s football teams weren’t going full bore during a 7-on-7 passing scrimmage Wednesday morning at the Rebels’ Shields Stadium.
They are two of the area’s premier programs, and they don’t take practices of any kind lightly.
“Really good work with a really good team,” Greeneville coach Eddie Spradlen said. “We weren’t trying to win a 7-on-7 game. We both wanted to get some work in and be able to coach and it was a really good day today.”

Maryville is a perennial state power in Class 6A, same as Greeneville in Class 4A.
