FIRST TEAM
Brody Foster (Halls, senior)
The Virginia signee and 5Star Preps Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year won his second consecutive TSSAA Class AAA State Decathlon in dominant fashion with 7,506 points and also claimed first place in the Class AAA state pole vault with a 15-0 mark.
Joseph Hall (Anderson County, senior)
Hall won the TSSAA Class AA state long jump with a winning mark of 22-9.25, which was also the best mark amongst all 5Star Preps area competitors, regardless of classification.
Owen Fulford (CAK, senior)
Fulford closed his prep career with a big week at the TSSAA Division II-A state meet, claiming the decathlon title with 6,246 points and then finishing first in the Division II-A 110 hurdles (14.28), first in the 300 hurdles (39.00), and second in the pole vault (13-6).
Waylon Spierdowis (Gibbs, junior)
Spierdowis cruised to a TSSAA Class AA state decathlon championship with 6,718 points but also finished first in the Class AA 110 hurdles at 14.17 seconds, first in the 300 hurdles at 38.12 and second in the triple jump at 46-9.
Antwaan Underwood (Loudon, senior)
Underwood finished as TSSAA Class AA runner-up in the high jump at 6-6 and fourth in a deep Class AA decathlon field.
J.R. Fowler (Catholic, senior)
Fowler won TSSAA Division II-AA state championships in the both the discus (181-3) and the shot put (57-2).
Josiah Tucker (Alcoa, senior)
Tucker finished as TSSAA Class AA state runner-up in the 110 hurdles with his time of 14.22 coming in as the second-fastest time among all 5Star Preps area competitors, regardless of classification.
Jamir Dean (Alcoa, junior)
The Alcoa football and basketball star anchored the Alcoa state champion 4 x 100 relay team. He also ran the Class AA state 100 in 10.69 seconds, which was the best time among any sprinter from the 5Star Preps coverage area at state, regardless of class. He also ran the 200 in an area-best 21.76 seconds.
Javaston Badgett (Central, senior)
Badgett finished third (10.70 seconds) in the Class AAA state 100-meter dash and fourth (21.90) in the Class AAA state 200-meter.
Trey Bailey (Greeneville, junior)
Bailey won the Class AA state championship in the 3200 at 9:23.66, but he also claimed second in 1600 meter at 4:17.65.
Tommy Babbit (Maryville, junior)
Babbit placed third (4:18.29) in the Class AAA state 1600-meter run.
Camden King (Maryville, freshman)
The ninth-grader placed fourth in the Class AAA state 400 with a time of 48.51 seconds and was sixth (22.03) in the 200
Kohbe Ward (Concord, freshman)
Ward won a TSSAA Division II-A state championship in the 400 with a time of 48.72
Jayden Howard (Morristown West, senior)
Howard placed third (38.10 seconds) in the Class AAA 300 hurdles, fourth (14.44 seconds) in the Class AAA 110 hurdles and fifth (21.98 seconds) in the Class AAA 200-meter dash
Mason Greenhalgh (Oak Ridge, senior)
Greenhalgh’s time of 1:52.51 made him a TSSAA Class AAA state champion in the 800-meter run.
Reid Bannister (Catholic, sophomore)
Bannister had the 5Star Preps area’s second-best time in the 800 at 1:54.30, which placed him fifth in the state in Division II-AA. He also won the KIL 800.
Cade Duncanson (Catholic, junior)
Duncanson charted the 5Star Preps area’s best time in the 3200 at 9:20.53, which landed him in second place at the TSSAA Division II-AA state meet. He won the KIL 3200, as well.
Matthew Victory (Morristown West, senior)
Victory placed fourth in the Class AAA state decathlon and then logged a fifth-place finish in the long jump (22-3.75) and ran the 100-meter in 10.89 seconds.
Nicholas Rivers (Hardin Valley Academy, junior)
One of the elite sprinters in Knoxville, Rivers ran a 10.76 in the Class AAA state 100 after winning the Section 1-AAA 100 in 10.54 seconds.
Nicholas Burke (West, senior)
Burke finished fifth in the state in the Class AAA 1600-meter run after winning the 1-AAA sectional 1600 and KIL 1600.
