HOW TEAMS ARE SELECTED
Below you’ll find the 2026 All-5Star Preps Softball Teams.
This is not a prospect list or recruiting rankings.
The athletes are chosen from a pool of 70 total schools from the 5Star Preps coverage area.
And they are selected based on a variety of factors, including: overall talent/skill, 2026 season statistics, team success in 2026, candidate submissions from head coaches, and 5Star Preps staff assessments.
CATCHERS
FIRST TEAM
Cadence Cox, Stone Memorial, senior
Cox spurred on a state tournament appearance with a .578 batting average, nine home runs, 47 RBIs, 15 walks and seven doubles.
Tori Hahn, Alcoa, junior
Hahn helped Alcoa win a Class 3A state championship. A Kentucky commit, Hahn hit .405 with 12 doubles, 17 walks, and 46 RBIs.
Katelyn Russell, Heritage, senior
Russell has been a key figure in a successful run in Heritage softball history. This spring, she hit .425 with 16 doubles, five home runs and 44 RBIs while also being highly effective in the pitching circle when needed.
SECOND TEAM
Birdie Russell (Lakeway, sophomore): Russell hit .420 with 10 doubles, seven HRs and 34 RBIs.
Hadassah Cooney (Oakdale, sophomore): Cooney didn’t strike out once in 2026. She hit .478 with 40 RBIs.
Cenzie Collin (Grace Christian, freshman): .Collin batted .404 with six homers, 13 doubles and 34 RBIs.
INFIELDERS
FIRST TEAM
Halle Bailey, Alcoa, senior
A Lady Vols signee and District MVP, Bailey earned 2026 5Star Preps Softball Player of the Year, guiding Alcoa to a Class 3A state championship by hitting .627 with 77 runs scored, 21 walks and 34 RBIs.
Isabella Saunders, Maryville, senior
Saunders hit .571 in Maryville’s postseason, which including the Lady Rebels finishing state runner-up. Saunders hit .461 for the season with 14 doubles, five homers and 54 runs scored.
Kayli Reece, Jefferson County, junior
Reece put her name on the radar this past spring, posting big numbers — .488 batting average, 14 home runs, 57 RBIs, eight triples and 15 doubles.
Ava Malone, Grace Christian, junior
A Belmont commit, Malone blasted 15 home runs with 18 doubles en route to a .527 batting average and 55 RBIs.
Ashley Wittenburg, Stone Memorial, senior
Wittenburg played a significant role in Stone Memorial reaching the state tournament. She hit .633 and struck out only once in 106 plate appearances.
Claire Davenport, West, sophomore
Davenport starred often in West’s fairytale season, helping the Lady Rebels reach the state sectionals. She hit .523 with 49 runs scored and 23 RBIs.
Raya Inge, Alcoa, sophomore
Inge’s power and production were vital towards Alcoa winning Class 3A. Not only did she hit .393 as a sophomore but she belted 14 home runs with 11 doubles and 45 RBIs.
SECOND TEAM
McKinley Grubb (Lakeway, senior): Grubb hit .494 with 15 doubles and 43 RBIs.
Harper Bales (Halls, senior): A Chattanooga signee, Bales hit .468 BA as a senior with 29 RBIs.
Layla Alcorn (Oliver Springs, junior): Alcoa hit .545 with 11 doubles, seven homers and 44 RBIs.
Camryn Shrader (Farragut): Shrader had a team-best 10 home runs and 31 walks to go with 29 RBIs.
Maddy Stewart (Alcoa, senior): A Chattanooga State signee, Stewart hit .409 and had 32 RBIs for 3A champion Alcoa.
Grayson Burgess (Alcoa, junior): Burgess drove in 55, scored 22 times and hit .386 with seven home runs for 3A champion Alcoa.
Brooklyn Burnett (West, senior): Burnett battled through injury to still hit .491 with 32 RBIs.
OUTFIELDERS
FIRST TEAM
Shelby Williams, Gibbs, senior
A big part of 2024 and 2025 state titles at Gibbs, Williams had a big 2026, too. She hit .469 with seven triples, 13 doubles, 13 home runs and 50 RBIs.
Harper White, Maryville, sophomore
White showed a penchant for delivering in the clutch in the postseason and also hit .667 with 13 RBIs in 10 postseason games. She wound up hitting .449 as a sophomore with 12 doubles, five home runs, 36 runs and 38 RBIs.
Ava Maples, Maryville, senior
A Murray State signee, Maples helped Maryville reach the 4A title game by hitting 11 home runs, driving in 56 RBIs and hitting .417 during the 2026 campaign.
Da’Ja Casby, Alcoa, senior
Alcoa won a 3A state championship in the spring, and Casby gave a big contribution during the Lady Ts run with a .526 batting average and 42 runs scored.
Rylee Raby, Farragut, junior
Raby hit .439 as a junior in the 2026 season, smacking 20 doubles and driving in 44 RBIs during the Lady Admirals’ 35-win season.
SECOND TEAM
Amelia Williams (CAK, freshman): Williams has blazing speed and she hit .490 as a freshman with 51 hits and 38 runs.
Rilee Goodson (Oakdale, senior): Goodson hit .543 in 2026 with 11 doubles, 39 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
Madilynn Rutherford (Gibbs, junior): Rutherford hit .375, which was second-best on the team, with 29 RBIs.
Jayde Deal (Alcoa, freshman): One of the area’s top newcomers, Deal hit .339 with 12 doubles, three homers and 36 RBIs for 3A champion Alcoa.
Braylen Melton (Wartburg, senior): Melton hit .582 with five home runs, 12 doubles and 39 RBI.
PITCHERS & TWO-WAY TALENTS
FIRST TEAM
Kaylea Osborne, Alcoa, senior
A UT Martin signee, Osborne went 20-1 in the 2026 season, helping Alcoa win a Class 3A state championship. She fanned 160 batters in 117 innings pitched while constructing a 1.42 ERA.
Hallie Grace Johnson, Farragut, junior
One of the top two-way talents around, Johnson authored a 22-4-1 record in the spring, striking out 212 hitters in 153 innings against 35 walks. She also hit .447 with eight home runs, 14 doubles and 50 RBIs. Farragut won 35 games and reached the 4A state tournament.
Kenzie Jackson, Stone Memorial, sophomore
Stone Memorial reached the state tournament for just the second time in its program’s history. Jackson played a big role, batting .533 with 11 homers and 45 RBIs while also striking out 239 batters in 170.1 innings. She had a 1.31 ERA.
Emily Bogoski, CAK, sophomore
Bogoski followed up her stellar 2025 season with a great 2026. She hit .522 with 13 doubles, 10 home runs and 42 RBIs. In the circle, she fanned 198 batters in 139 innings.
Sailor Presley, Kingston, senior
Kingston returned to the TSSAA state tournament in 2026 behind Presley, an MTSU signee. She hit .467 with nine home runs and 31 RBIs while also going 21-3 as a pitcher. She struck out 352 hitters in 164.2 innings pitched. Her ERA? Try 0.59.
Ella Borbeck, Eagleton, sophomore
Borbeck helped Eagleton win 26 games in her first season there. She drove in 58 runs, hit .482 with 21 doubles and also won 14 games in the circle. She carried a 1.14 ERA and struck out 267 hitters (against 57 walks) in 129 innings.
Hailee Hartsell, Cocke County, senior
Hartsell was at the forefront of Cocke County making its first-ever state tournament appearance. She went 17-1 with a 0.78 ERA and 142 strikeouts in 128.1 innings pitched. She also hit .419 with 14 doubles and five home runs.
SECOND TEAM
Sadie Scott (Sweetwater, junior): A Lipscomb commit, Scott hit .484 and struck out 206 batters while composing a 1.31 ERA.
Landry Smith (Oakdale, sophomore): Smith won 17 games, struck out 128 in 92.2 innings while also hitting .554 with 34 RBIs.
Brooke Weaver (West, senior): A District Tournament MVP, Weaver hit .333 and pitched 201.2 innings while helping West notch its first winning season (and sectionals berth) in more than 25 years.
Avery Ramey (Lakeway, senior): The Appalachian State signee hit .428 with 30 RBIs while winning 12 games and striking out 136 in 90.2 innings pitched.
Carlee Gallaher (Oliver Springs, senior): The District 3-1A Pitcher of the Year hit also .512 with nine home runs and 44 RBIs.
Ellie Proffitt (Cocke County, junior): Proffitt hit .530 for Cocke County with 43 RBIs. She went 14-7 pitching with 169 strikeouts and a 2.36 ERA.
Shylo Williford (Grainger, freshman): Williford collected 239 strikeouts and penned a school-record 1.80 ERA while hitting .398 with seven homers and 46 RBIs.
