Bearden freshman Avery Stevens is living a childhood dream, and it became even more real Tuesday night.
Stevens scored the winning goal with 4 minutes and 24 seconds left, lifting the Lady Bulldogs to a 3-2 victory over visiting Farragut in the District 4-AAA elimination semifinals.
Stevens has been watching the Lady Bulldogs play for years.
“I’ve always looked up to all the girls and always knew I wanted to be up here someday,” she said.
“It’s been awesome just to be a part of it, and I can’t wait for three more years of it.”
First, she and Bearden have at least one more week of this season.
