MARYVILLE – Reaching the Class AAA state tournament for the second consecutive year might mean more to senior libero Delaney White than any other player on the Maryville volleyball team.
While the Lady Rebels went to state last year, White stayed home due to COVID-19 contact tracing. She got quarantined the day before Maryville’s trip to Murfreesboro.
“I cried a lot,” White recalls. “A lot of tears were shed.
“I was really disappointed, but we had a good team, and I had faith in them to go on and do really well.”
