Bearden senior Eli Keener went to the Class AAA state soccer tournament for the past three years as the team’s backup goalkeeper.
He watched and learned from four-year starting keeper Logan Nelson, a 2025 graduate.
This week, Keener goes to the state tournament as Bearden’s starting keeper, thanks to a play he helped make late Saturday morning.
