LENOIR CITY — Friday night provided a once-in-a-lifetime memory for Loudon’s football players, fans, and coaches.
They celebrated a 29-0 victory over rival Lenoir City in the 100th annual Battle of the Bridge rivalry football game.
And it was a historic victory for the Redskins. Their eight straight wins against Lenoir City is a record in the series between the two schools.
“For a lot of these guys,” Loudon coach Jeff Harig said, “this is a highlight of their high school careers, for not only our players but our students. To have five classes in a row that have never lost to (Lenoir City), that’s a big deal for us, for sure.”
