CLINTON — Even in the final minutes of overtime, the finish line for the Northview girls basketball team had to feel miles away.
If facing a Clinton team that entered Monday’s contest 30-2 and was playing on its home court wasn’t enough, the Lady Dragons play an aggressive brand of defense.
That pressure was only heightened with Clinton trailing in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Toughness is what the Lady Cougars needed, and toughness is what they got.
Northview knocked off Clinton 52-48 in overtime in the semifinals of the Region 2-3A Tournament and advanced to Wednesday’s final against district rival Cocke County.
