OAK RIDGE – Oak Ridge’s baseball team has relied on its pitching staff all season, and Thursday night was no different.
Left-handers Kam Welch and Peyton Witter combined on a five-hitter with 19 strikeouts, leading the top-seeded Wildcats to a 1-0 victory over No. 4-seeded Halls in 10 innings in the District 3-4A tournament at the Oak Ridge Baseball Complex.

“They both are incredible talents and incredible pitchers, and they did a really good job,” Oak Ridge coach Travis Free said. “Luckily, we have a great pitching staff and a great defense, and we found a way to get our offense going to take the win.”
