OAK RIDGE – Oak Ridge senior quarterback Blaine Stansberry threw a Hail Mary pass from Johnson City Science Hill’s 31-yard line into the end zone as time ran out Thursday night.
Oak Ridge trailed Science Hill 35-31.
A crowd of players leaped for the football, then crashed to the turf.
Suddenly, Oak Ridge senior receiver Adam Washington stood up, raising the football with both hands for an apparent touchdown while raising the hopes of the Oak Ridge players and fans.
It wasn’t to be for the Wildcats.
