KINGSTON – Sailor Presley wasn’t at her peak pitching Tuesday night, but she gutted one out.
The senior right-hander threw a five-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks at Southwest Point Park, leading Kingston to a 9-1 victory over visiting Sweetwater in a game for first place in the District 3-AA standings.
It has been a busy couple of days pitching for Presley, who threw a two-hitter Monday when Kingston beat McMinn Central 5-1 in a district game.
“I got the job done (Tuesday), obviously,” Presley said. “Coming off another district game, it was tough. My arm was a little bit sore, definitely, but we got the win and that’s all that matters.”
