Though no TSSAA state golf championships were claimed by 5Star Preps area golfers or teams on Friday in Sevierville, that doesn’t mean that the players didn’t represent the area well.
Here’s a recap of what happened in the final rounds of the 2026 TSSAA Division I-AA and Division II-AA state tournaments at Sevierville Golf Club…

Hardin Valley Academy’s girls golf program had hopes for a team and an individual title in Friday’s final round on the Highlands Course, but neither materialized in the Lady Hawks’ favor.
HVA junior Addisyn Newman, who logged state runner-up finishes as freshman and sophomore, finished third Friday at 6-over 146. She shot 76 in the final round.
Poppy Pewitt, a junior from Dickson County, successfully defended her state championship, constructing the only under-par round of the day Friday in Division I-AA play. Her 2-under 68 helped her rally for the win at 1-under 139, as she faced a four-shot deficit to begin Friday play.
First-round leader Alli Troxell, a sophomore at Ooltewah, led after Day One with a 3-under 67. Four bogeys on the front nine Friday erased her cushion. She carded a final-round 74 and wound up runner-up at 1-over 141.
West sophomore Reese McMahan, who was competing as an individual this week, shot a final-round 71 to catapult her into a fifth-place finish.
Troxell didn’t go home empty handed, though. She and sister Charli (74-77) led the Lady Owls to their first-ever girls team championship at 12-over 292. Page finished runner-up at ??? and HVA was third (xxx) in the eight-team field.
In Division I-AA boys play, Page cruised to a boys’ team state championship at 11-under 565. That two-day total ranked second, all-time, in the TSSAA boys’ golf state tournament history of lowest team scores. The Patriots won by 41 shots over runner-up Houston and by 46 over third-place Science Hill.
Patriot standouts Jake Eickhoff and Reid Bostelman tied for medalist honors at 5-under 139. Bostelman shot a final-round 66 to catch first-round leader Eickhoff, an Nebraska commit.
Maryville junior Wil Huddleston made eight birdies Friday en route to a final-round, 4-under 68. He birdied seven of his first 12 holes and ultimately finished in a tie for 10th at even-par 144 with Maryville sophomore Ray ReBell (71-73).
DIVISION II-AA

The Knoxville Catholic girls golf team stacked a third-place finish this week onto the third-place showing it had a season ago. The Lady Irish shot a respectable two-day total of 25-over 305, saving their best for last.
Catholic shot 10-over 150 Friday in the final round, led by Teagan Walker’s 3-over 73 and Linzy Johnson’s 77. Walker and Johnson — who are both seniors — started on the back nine Friday at Sevierville Golf Club’s Highlands Course and shot a combined 2 under on that stretch of holes. The front nine proved formidable, though, and hemmed up Catholic’s comeback.
Baylor got the girls’ team championship with a two-day mark of 4-over 284. Harpeth Hall, the first-round leader, finished runner-up in the six-team field at 11-over 291.
Baylor senior Katie Tuder, who shared the first-round individual lead at 1-over 71 with Harpeth Hall freshman Olivia Jiang, won the Division II-AA girls championship. She fired a final-round 3-under 67 to win by five shots over Hutchison’s Catherine Bowie (73-70—143) and by six over Jiang (71-73—144).
Walker finished in solo sixth place, signing for rounds of 76 and 73.
Johnson placed in a tie for 10th. She shot 79-76.
In the boys’ tournament, MUS capitalized on its sizable first-round lead and captured the boys’ team championship at 11-under 565. That two-day total ranked second, all-time, in the TSSAA boys’ golf state tournament history of lowest team scores.
The Owls took home the program’s eighth state title but first since 2017.
They stormed to a first-round lead thanks to an opening 9-under 279, which led Ensworth by 10. Ensworth closed the cap a little on Friday, thanks to a 5-under 283. But MUS’ 286 proved plenty to keep the title in hand. The Owls won by seven. Baylor finished third in the six-team event at 1-under 577.
MUS senior Brantley Moore won medalist honors with consecutive rounds of 4-under 68. His MUS teammate, senior Drew Knighton, finished in a tie for second with back-to-back rounds of 70.
Webb School of Knoxville junior Colmore Sprouse was the area’s low finisher in Division II-AA boys, as his rounds of 74 and 73 landed him in a tie for 14th.
