The TSSAA transfer rule is about to change again.
And this time, state legislation is the main driving force behind it.
TSSAA executive director Mark Reeves issued the statement below in regards to Gov. Bill Lee signing into effect House Bill 25 / Senate Bill 16.
Reeves’ statement alerts all TSSAA member schools of the changes to come regarding the new one-time transfer rule, which will begin taking form at the April meeting.
The TSSAA implemented changes roughly a year ago for the 2025-2026 school year that would allow for a transfer for non-athletic reasons — i.e. … academic better or mental health.
