ALCOA – Things went from good to bad in a hurry Tuesday night for the Alcoa girls’ basketball team.
The Lady Tornadoes outscored visiting South-Doyle 22-4 in the second quarter for a 37-15 halftime lead.
Then they went into their locker room, and one of the Lady T’s got sick and thew up.
Then another Lady T got sick and threw up.
Amid that mess, the Lady T’s went into the office of Alcoa coach David Baumann and met for the rest of halftime.
In the second half, Alcoa couldn’t sustain its momentum from the second quarter but managed to pull out a 65-54 victory over the Lady Cherokees.
Baumann didn’t blame the barfing for the lapse, either.
