With his top wide receiver out for the fourth quarter because of injury, Central quarterback Kaden Long showed the utmost trust in the rest of his wide receiving corps late in a rivaly game Thursday night.
Long’s 32-yard touchdown strike in the final minute of the game helped the Bobcats stave off an upset bid by host Halls, and a missed field goal by the Red Devils in the final seconds allowed Central to secure the win, 38-35.
Central improved to 6-2 but the victory Thursday also moved the Bobcats to 4-1 in Region 2-5A and alone in second place. Halls dropped to 3-4 (3-2).
