MURFREESBORO — From Farragut’s one-point win to Webb’s not-so-close victory — an even to Greeneville’s repeat — here’s all you need to know about what went down this week in the 2025 TSSAA Track & Field Championships.

FARRAGUT ADMIRALS WIN BOYS CLASS AAA TEAM STATE TITLE
IN DRAMATIC FASHION
Bryce Thompson, a senior at Farragut, helped the Admirals’ team cause with a win in the shot put (58-4.75) and a second-place finish in the discus (171-4).
Evan Beeler, a senior for the Admirals, won the 1600-meter in 4:16.93.
Beeler posted another first-place finish in the 800, edging Oak Ridge’s Mason Greenhalgh. Beeler’s time was 1:53.29. Greenhalgh’s was 1:54.51.
Tanner Coggin’s second-place finish in the 3200 hauled in some more points for the Admirals. Coggin legged out a time of 9:21.19 for second place, narrowly beating Brentwood’s Callahan Fielder (9:21.88).
But the Farragut 4 x 400 relay team of Beeler, Chase McAvoy, Noah Eaker, and Lucas Spadafora clinched the win.
Their time of 3:20.50 narrowly edged Whitehaven’s 3:21.03 to get 10 points and move them into first place overall.
Farragut finished first with 65 points. Whitehaven was second at 64, receiving eight points for the second-place finish in that pivotal 4 x 400 relay.
Farragut won its first boys team championship since 2000, when it three-peated.

WEBB SCHOOL OF KNOXVILLE GIRLS WIN STATE
Given what the Lady Spartans did this spring in the KIL Championships, dominating the field in a landslide victory, Webb School of Knoxville’s 2025 Division II-AA State Championship shocked no one.
Webb accumulated 130 total points, which was 43 clear of second-place Harpeth Hall, to repeat as team champions. Knoxville Catholic finished fourth with 77 points.
The Lady Spartans cruised to a win in the 4 x 800 (9:39.72).
Webb freshman Lacy Young got the win in the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 11.79 seconds to clip Catholic junior Chloe Truss (12.09) and Webb freshman Simone Romain (12.12).
Young then won the 200 in 24.97 seconds. Truss took second at 24.23 seconds and Romain third (25.53).
Calysta Garmer (Webb, junior) and Jazzlyn Garmer (Webb, junior) took first and second place, respectively, in the 1600. Calysta’s winning time was 1:10.54 and Jazzlyn placed second at 1:10.83.
Calysta and Jazzlyn finished 1-2, again, in the 3200. Calysta’s time was 10:31.20 while Jazzlyn posted 10:31.35.
Webb junior Carolina Areheart dominated the 800, winning in 2:09.43 for a six-second victory.
A volleyball standout by trade, Lennox Langham, a senior at Webb, won the triple jump (40-2) and finished second in the long jump (18-7).
Tallulah Carney, a Webb junior, took third in the high jump (5-4).
Maggie Frana of Catholic won the discus throw (132-9) and placed third in the shot put (35-11.25).
Teammate Payton Sipos claimed second in the 300-meter hurdles (44.90 seconds) and third (14.68 seconds) in the 100-meter hurdles. She also finished fourth in the Division II-AA pentathlon.
Catholic won the 4 x 200 relay (1:41.92) by 0.15 seconds of Webb and then got third in the 4 x 400.

GREENEVILLE BOYS WIN CLASS AA CHAMPIONSHIP
The Greeneville Greene Devils edged Millington, 82-72, to win the Class AA boys track & field championship. Alcoa was third with 45 points.
The title gave Greeneville its repeat in Class AA and third team boys track championship in a four-year span.
Greeneville junior Zaydyn Anderson, whose football prowess is garnering Power Four offers, won the 100-meter dash in 11.03, just .02 better than Fairview’s Lucas Casaletta-Holmes.
Anderson also won the boys long jump in 22-2.5.
He was second in the boys 200 (22.44) and third in triple jump (44-3).
Greeneville senior Jacob Moore won the boys pole vault in 14-1.
Trey Bailey, a sophomore for Greeneville, cruised to a victory in the boys 3200 in 9:28.74.
Jaxon Nichols, a senior at Greeneville, finished second in the 110-meter hurdles.
NOTEWORTHY AREA WINNERS
Hardin Valley senior Garrett Hawkins won the Class AAA boys 3200 in 9:16.16.
Luke Ivey dominated the Class AAA boys’ discus competition, winning it in 182-8. The Campbell County junior’s throw cleared second place by 11 feet, 4 inches.
Matthew Victory, a junior at Morristown West, won the boys Class AAA long jump in 22-11.5.
Luke Dark, a junior at Anderson County, won the Class AA boys shot put in 62-1.
Ava Moody, a junior at Anderson County, won the Class AA girls 3200 meter in 10:56.48.
Elizabethton senior Landry Buckles placed first in the Class AA boys discus at 177-4.
Alcoa’s Josiah Tucker, a junior, won the Class AA boys 110-meter hurdles in 14.84 seconds.
Myles Crayton, a senior at Austin-East, won gold in the Class AA boys 400 in 48.44 seconds. He also finished first in the Class AA boys 200 in 22.33.
Gibbs senior Milo Willetts won first in the Class AA boys 300-meter at 39.39 seconds.
Stone Memorial senior Nathan Wagner won the Class AA boys 800-meter in 1:54.69 seconds.
Elizabethton junior Jamira Smalls won the Class AA girls shot put in 37-8.75.
SECOND-PLACE FINISHERS
Gavin Bailey (Bearden, senior), took second in the Class AAA boys pole vault (14-6).
Oak Ridge’s Mason Greenhalgh pocketed second place in the Class AAA boys 800 in 1:54.51.
Mackenzie Eisenberg placed second in the girls Class AAA high jump with a mark of 5-4.
Katie Edmonds of Farragut earned runner-up in the Class AAA girls pole vault, the senior doing so in 11-6.
The CAK boys finished second in the Division II-A 4 x 800 relay with a time of 8:20.48.
Peyton Brooks, of the Lakeway girls track team, claimed second in the Division II-A triple jump at 34-8.
Lakeway’s Kayla Underwood finished second in the Division II-A girls high jump in 5-2.
CAK’s Amelia Wedemeyer placed second in the Division II-A girls 300-meter hurdles at 45.95 seconds.
Catholic’s J.R. Fowler claimed second in the Division II-AA boys shot put at 61-5.75 and second in the discus (175-10).
Kaden Thompson, a senior from Pigeon Forge, took second in the boys’ pole vault in Class a at 12-6.
David Hall, a senior at Northview, was second (12-6) in the boys Class AA pole vault.
Gibbs senior John Caldwell landed second in boys Class AA high jump (6-2).
Alcoa was second in the boys 4 x 200 relay in Class AA with a time of 1:29.09.
Anderson County senior Vance Lester finished runner-up in the Class AA boys 1600-meter in 4:26.80.
Alcoa’s Josiah Tucker was second in the boys 300 hurdles at 39.69.
Elizabethton sophomore Liahna Nave was second in the Class AA discus in 120-5.
Anderson County junior Ava Moody garnered second place in the Class AA Girls 1600-meter in 5:03.71.
Fulton finished second in the Class AA girls 4 x 100 relay in 48.90 seconds.
Central’s boys 4 x 100 team placed second in Class AAA in 41.86 seconds.
Carli Fellembaum (Maryville HS) was second in the Girls Unifield shot put.
Brenden Sinclair (Maryville) was second in the Boys Unifield 100-meter.
Maryville’s girls 4 x 400 relay was second in Class AAA in 3:56.79.
