Austin-East spent most of Friday night showing how much it has improved.
Then, in the final moments, the Roadrunners made sure their progress paid dividends.
Sophomore quarterback Landon Lightfoot threw for 251 yards and three touchdown passes, and Layden Middlebrook intercepted Scott’s desperation heave with 16 seconds left, allowing Austin-East to escape with a 31-28 Region 2-3A victory.
