The Halls softball team got hit early, and couldn’t get back on their feet.
The Lady Red Devils suffered a season-ending 3-0 loss at home on Friday to Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett in a Class 4A state sectional.
Halls (32-7-1) was trying to return to the state tournament for the second year in a row. Instead, Dobyns-Bennett (23-17) will have the chance to repeat as state champions.
Before the crowd even settled in, the Lady Indians were on the attack both at the plate and on the basepaths.
