Halls senior right-hander Atiana Stamper was living in the present Thursday night, not the past.
The Carson-Newman signee gave up one hit over six innings, leading the Lady Red Devils to an 8-1 victory over host Farragut in the Region 2-4A championship.
On the same day last year, Stamper threw a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts as Halls beat Farragut 3-0 in the region championship.
“I wasn’t really thinking about last year’s game,” Stamper said. “I was thinking about this year’s game and just locking in on getting the win, no matter how I did it.”
